NTAHC TECH SESSIONS

TRI-CARB BT7 CLUB PROJECT FINISHED
by: Jerry Wall

The culmination of 2 1/2 years of Saturdays was realized on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 when the keys to Kirk and Renee Phillips' NEW HEALEY were delivered to Kirk by NTAHC'ers Don Bundrant, Jerry Wall and Dick Solomon.

This project began in June, 2001 when Kirk and Renee were transferred to Overland Park, Ks ( KC MO ) and had to decide what to do with their disassembled BT7.

The NTAHC took a rolling chassis with engine and transmission installed and all painted exterior sheetmetal to be installed and jumped into the middle of a concours reassembly.

Missing esoteric bits and pieces were located hither and yon and slowly and accurately the reassembly began.

The detailed oriented restoration features a complete Heritage interior, hood and tonneau cover. Also featured is a genuine LUCAS reproduction 12V battery.

As a departure from authentic, and only because they look so good, are five (5) 72 spoke chrome wires with Michelin 175x15 radials.

The Phillips plan to GO FOR THE GOLD at Conclave Texas!, in San Antonio the latter part of June of this year.

Many NTAHC members worked on this project from time to time, however, in addition to the three making the presentation, those logging the most time were Barry Donaldson ( now a resident of Ct ) and Don Clarke of Fort Worth. Also providing invaluable assistance were Bret Blades, Tom Taff, Chris Kellner, Don Koos and John Katz.
